Kurt Okraku, Ghana Football Association President, has disclosed the reason why monies have been set aside to ensure the capacity building of media personalities in Ghana is to ensure proper commentaries on the products of the FA
GFA released the disbursement list of FIFA/CAF covid-19 relief fund last month but was faced with fierce scrutiny, especially $7000 that was allocated to media capacity building, as critics say the amount apportioned to the media is needless
However, Kurt Okraku, says it was important for that amount to be assigned to the media because they want to change how sports journalists run commentaries on their products
“The way commentaries are run on our products need to change hence the need for media capacity building”- Okraku Told Max fm
“You won’t go to any established football nation and see a Tv or Radio partner killing the product.
“You are the owner of the radio rights of say beach soccer, and then on your same platform you are killing beach soccer. It means there is something wrong with the marriage, it means you didnt take care of all the good steps before the paper was signed, that includes what we are talking about, by ensuring the people who are going to deliver the service are properly trained.” He preached.
