The La Casa Blanca unexpectedly defeated the Reds in England at Anfield after coming back from being two goals behind with a great effort.
Tuesday night’s first leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinals at Anfield saw Real Madrid thrash Liverpool 5-2.
Despite having two early goals from Darwen Nunez and Mohamed Salah, the Los Blancos were able to defeat the Reds thanks to a double from Vinicius Jr., Benzema, and Milatao’s spectacular header.
Liverpool and Real Madrid finished the first half with an outstanding 2-2 tie. Both teams were tied despite a fantastic goal and a goalkeeping miscue on each side.
Four minutes into the game, Nunez gave Liverpool the lead with a backheel flick past Courtois. Ten minutes later, Salah scored the team’s second goal after the goalkeeper had given the ball to him.
Vinicius picked out the bottom corner before blocking Alisson’s pass to loop in another as Madrid fought back.
Militao thumped unmarked header two minutes after halftime before Benzema finished off with two spectacular brace.
