AshantiGold has identified unsettled Hearts of oak striker, Joseph Esso, as a perfect replacement for their want-away skipper Shafiu Mumuni.
Shafiu, 25, is reported to have a rejected a contract extension offer from the Miners and has hinted that he is going to Asante Kotoko.
The Black stars ‘B’ striker’s contract came to an end on the 1st of July 2020 and Dr. Kwaku Frimpong the team President, has called the player to a contract negotiations after the player return from an unsuccessful trials in Romania but did not honor the invitation. The player has since refused to join his teammates for training making his intentions clear that he wants to leave.
And Halftimegh.com can exclusively report that, Ashgold wants to add Esso to their striking department ahead of their CAF confederation campaign next season.
AshantiGold have had initial discussion with the player through his brother Eric [Esso] and believes they will get their target man, in the coming days, management of the Obuasi-based club will open contract negotiations with the representatives of Esso, as reports say the former Black stars B attacker has also turned down a contract extension from Hearts.
Esso, 23 joined the Phobians in February 2018 on a 3-year-deal after his contract with Ebusua Dwarfs came to an end, his current contract is expected to to end next year January.
