Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has advised Thomas Partey, Salisu Mohammed and other young Ghanaians who seek to ply their trade in England to be ready because the Premiership is very tough.
Salisu secured Southampton move a few weeks ago whereas Partey has also been linked to Arsenal and reports say, the Atletico Madrid star will move to London before the transfer window shuts.
Speaking on the transfer of his compatriot, The Bison believes the premier league is not tough like before but players should be ready before joining any club
“Opportunity comes but ones so what I will tell young players is to be ready because the Premier League is very tough”- Essien told Simplycarol8 on Instagram
”Back then it was tough but when the opportunity came for me to go there, I was ready, I will say back then it was tough coming to now, yet players need to be ready and make their mark when the chance come calling” he ended.
The 37-year-old hard tackler played in England for 9-years winning the Premiership title twice and the champions league with Chelsea.
Essien played for Bastia, Lyon, AC Milan, Real Madrid Panathinaikos etc
After a year stint with Azerbaijan club Sabail, Essien is currently unattached.
