Black Meteors defeated Mozambique 2-0 in the second leg of the U-23 TotalEnergies African Cup Nation qualifiers at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon
Sylvester Simba and Daniel Afriyie Barnieh’s second half spot kick handed the Meteors 2-0 win over Mozambique; the Ghanaian side qualified on a 4-1 aggregate.
The Black Meteors headed into the second leg after defeating their opponent Mozambique 2-1 in the first leg.
The very determined side didn’t allow the visitors to possess the ball as they matched them boot for boot to take the lead.

The visitors were not given the chance to create chances for themselves by the Ghanaian defenders.
Swift play from the Meteors nearly resulted in a goal, but the final touch from Daniel Afriyie Barnieh couldn’t yield a result.
The Black Meteors fought on and had a penalty after the visitors’ defenders brought down the host’s forward line in the 18-yard box.
Daniel Afriyie stood up to convert the penalty, stretching Mozambique’s safest pair of hands to the left side to add to the tally.
The Black Meteors missed many chances after scoring the second goal and dominated play until the final whistle was blown
The Ghanaian side have qualified for the third round of the TotalEnergies Africa U-23 Cup of Nations and will play DR Congo next.
