The Stranded Ghanaian footballers who sent an SOS message to the government to be repatriated home from Ethiopia are set to begin a 14-day mandatory quarantine at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, Prampram after arriving in the country on Friday.
A group of Ghanaian players issued a passionate appeal through a video to the Government of Ghana to evacuate them from Addis Ababa a few weeks ago. Through the intervention of Government and Ghana Football Association these players have arrived in the country safely through Togo.
Among the 18 players are formal national team players such as Muntari Tagoe, Lee Addy and Kweku Andoh.
Narrating how they got to Ghana, Kweku Andoh, in an interview with Kumasi-based Hello FM said they players arrived at Togo and were received by Togolese Football Federation as the officials accompanied them to Ghana border at Aflao, where they were met by some Ghana FA officials and Police officers in the Black Stars team bus.
The 18 players are set to undergo mandatory COVID-19 quarantine.
According to one player, none of them showed any symptoms on their way from Ethiopia, however they have been informed that they will go through a mandatory two-weeks quarantine at Prampram.
