Ex Black Stars Coach Kwesi Appiah has had his three months salaries out of five months and a bonus in a win against Sao Tome and Principe in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations settled. Sports ministry has mete out a part payment of $70,000 to Appiah.
In April 2017 he was re-appointed as the coach of the Ghana national team, replacing former Chelsea manager Avram Grant, with a mandate to qualify and win AFCON 2019.
Following a disappointing tournament which saw the stars eliminated in the round of 16, the 59-year-old was released from his post after the Kurt Okraku led Administration opted not to extend his contract which ended 31 December 2019.
Months after he lost his job, Appiah wrote to GFA, demanding his outstanding benefits. After series of media banter between the parts involve, Ministry of youth, sports and culture has today confirmed that, the embattled Cosch has been settled part payment of his outstanding salary.
