The manager for former Ashantigold and captain of the Black Stars B team, Shafiu Mumuni has revealedno Ghanaian club can sign his player.
According to, Mr Ebo Kwaitoo, the demands of Shafiu is too huge for any locally based club to meet.
Shafiu is currently unattached after his contract with the AshGold expired a few months ago. Clubs including Asante Kotoko and Aduana Stars have been linked to the attacker.
In an interview with Kumasi 104.1 FM, Mr Ebo Kwaitoo confirmed negotiations with Kotoko as well as other clubs.
It is not true we are in talks with Kotoko for a possible move.
We held talks sometime back and informed them we have options in Europe, North Africa and Asia and as far as we are concerned nothing has changed, we are still focused.
If Kotoko still has an interest in him to convince him to play then they have to come with a better offer that supersedes our expectations as compared to the foreign ones.
I met Nana Yaw Amponsah sometime back but nothing concrete was decided because it was not part of our options hence we saw it as premature. Shafiu would have signed for a European club had it not been the closure of boarders at Spain to African countries. We had an offer from Apollon Smyrnis in Greece two weeks ago but they failed to give the visa due to the EU restrictions. We have other options all over the world; Asia, North Africa etc.
Shafiu lost interest in the local league in January so if something must compel him to play then it has to be an extraordinary offer.
So far we have engaged more than a hundred agents looking for Shafiu but we want the best for him.No Ghanaian club can meet the offer from these clubs.
Young Africans in Tanzania were ready to offer $50,000 signing on fee and $5,000 monthly salary.
