Former Ghana Premier League top scorer Hans Kwoffie has revealed that he managed to buy a house after playing only two matches in Egypt compared to the 12 years he spent in the GPL which he couldn’t acquire anything.
The enterprising striker moved to Egyptian giant Smouha sporting club from Ashanti gold sporting club in 2016 after a staggering season in the GPL, though the move didn’t go as he would’ve loved because of inadequate game time, Kwoffie says he made a lot of good money compare to over a decade stay in Ghana league.
”The player welfare in Egypt is far better than here when I got there I was given a house”- Hans told Angel FM Accra
”At smouha, they have all the modern training facilities that a player can go and train at anything unlike Ghana where a majority of clubs doesn’t even have a gym centre
”Aside from that, my salary was huge, very huge, I was earning times 50 of the salary I was giving at Ashgold
”I’ve played Ghana league for twelve years I couldn’t do anything with what I was earning but I played only two matches for Smouha and I have built a house for myself.
When I come home and I see my colleagues playing in Ghana I feel pity for them.” he concluded.
The 31-year-old has re-joined his former club Ashgold but says he is going to play out of the love he has for the fans, not the salary he will earn because he is now better off.
Hans Kwofie won the Golden Boot in the 2016/17 season after scoring 17 times for AshGold.
