Asante Kotoko board member Evelyn Nsiah Asare has hinted on the first task of the technical team and the playing body of the club when football resumes after disclosing her ordeal following the 4-0 thrashing by bitter rival Hearts of oak two decades ago.
The famous humiliation happened on the 15 of March 2000, defending champions, Accra Hearts of Oak went on rampage and took their bitterest rivals, Kumasi Asante Kotoko to the cleaners by defeating them 4-0 in a titanic league match at the Accra Stadium with Ishmael Addo scoring brace and Kenneth Sarpong and Emmanuel Osei Kuffour adding their names on the scoresheet
It was a sweet revenge for Hearts who had to endure a painful 20-year wait for this opportunity to avenge a 3-0 spanking they received at the hands of Kotoko in a league match at the Accra Stadium in 1980. The defeat was the heaviest for Kotoko since their 5-0 loss to Dwarfs in 1969.
Having been a strong supporter of the Kumasi based club since in fancy, Evelyn Nsiah has revealed how she still feels the pain of that defeat and has called on the playing body to return the favor to hearts with similar or even better score line
“As an ardent supporter of this great Club, this has been one of my greatest worries not because it’s to our bitter rivals, but because we’ve not been able to avenge it.
But this time around, I’m very confident in my boys to do the needful. Faaaaaaaaabulous ♥️”- Evelyn posted on her twitter page
