SV Ried Star Reuben Acquah has disclosed that his secret to his impressive performance at his club this season is influenced by a future call up into the senior national team Black stars.
The former Red-bull Academy midfielder is one of the best performers in the Austria second tier league as his club tops the league with 52 points from 23 matches
The 23-year-old, who can play as a defender or defensive midfield has said he always steps on the field with a mindset that, Black stars Coach CK Akonnor is watching him so he needs to give out his all.
“I go into matches thinking Black stars Coach is there watching me, so I try to give my all every time,”- Reuben told Halftimegh.com
“I’m a key player in our team now, I work hard everyday and I believe the mindset of thinking that I am been monitored by a Ghana national team coach has helped.
“My team is first and we want to qualify into the first division.”he concluded.
When ask if he deserves a call up in to the national team and if he can play the Black stars when he is called
“If the criteria for call-ups is still based on playing time at club level, then of course I deserve to be called, again if you ask me that I can play the black stars, I will say yes because football is my job and I think i possesses certain qualities that when am called I will bring to bare.”
Reuben has made 17 appearance out of 23 matches accumulating 1361 minutes of football in the league for his club.
