Elmina Sharks recorded their first win against league favourite Aduana Stars at the Ndoom Sports stadium on Thursday evening.
The Sharks hosted the Oga boys in the first round of week four games today with both clubs seeking for their first league win of the season.
Having started well and creating chances without scoring, the home side had a corner in the 23rd minute and Richard Mpong the former player for Aduana stars who delivered a sumptuous cross in the 18-yard box which beat Goalkeeper Joseph Addo into the empty net.
The half ended with the host leading 1-0.
The visitors tried to get back into the game but the resilient Sharks held on till referee Daniel Laryea brought the game to an end.
The results mean Elmina sharks are second on the league table with 6 points, as they travel to Obuasi to face Ashgold on matchday 5.
Meanwhile, the league favourite Aduana stars are in the relegation zone though they have one game at hand.
Aduana will host in-form Eleven Wonders on matchday 5.
