Ghana Premier league giant Accra Hearts of oak has recorded back-to-back defeat for the first time this season by losing 1-0 to Medeama sporting club at the Akoon Park on Thursday afternoon.
After their painful loss to rivals Accra Great Olympics over the weekend, Kosta Papic knew nothing but a win will ease pressure from his team but his players had none of that, displaying yet again lackadaisical performance throughout the game.
The home side with their own problems this season knew this was a perfect match to get them back on track and Justice Blay led the charges with a wonderful performance to keep the maximum points at Tarkwa.
The scoreline at halftime (0-0) didn’t show the truereflection of the game because the home side was the better side for the period by couldn’t take any of their numerous chances.
On the 51st minute, Blay who looked threatening inthe first-halfconnected a perfect cross from his teammate Samuel Appiah into the back of the net to put his side 1-0 lead.
Hearts even after going down by a goal, still looked sluggish as they played the game into the waiting arms of the Yellow and Mauve boys.
The game finally ended 1-0 in favour of the home side.
Hearts will play host to resurgent Legon cities this weekend at the Accra Sports stadium while Medeama will travel to face Techiman-based King Faisal.
