The Porcupine warriors return to winning ways after defeating scientific soccer lads in the week eight of 2020-2021 Ghana Premier League game at the Accra sports stadium on Monday afternoon.
It was one of the best 45 minutes of football from the Kumasi-based side for a very long time after creating good scoring opportunities in the opening minutes.
Their pressure paid off after Kwama Poku beautiful controlled a loose ball with the chest in the 18-yard box of Liberty and strike with his left foot which took a big deflection into the top left corner to put the host at 1-0 lead in the 10th minute.
The Ghana Premier league giant doubled their lead after Fabio Gama beautifully plays through Kwame Poku who intelligently beat three makers to lob the ball past the helpless goalkeeper to put the score at 2-0 in the 19th minute.
The game went into the break with the host failing to capitalise on the numerous chances they created.
The second half was the opposite of the first as the visitors came into the game more aggressive, causing a lot of problems to Kotoko defence.
Liberty couldn’t take advantage of the chances they created so as Kotoko als couldn’t add to their tally.
The game ended with the host picking the maximum points.
The results mean Kotoko is now on the sixth position with 12 points with one outstanding match.
