Ghana black stars have redeemed themselves from Friday’s embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Mali after destroying the Maroons of Qatar in an exciting game, which was held at theTitanic Sports complex in Antalya today.
The west African giant was going into the game with a lot of pressure following their Friday’s defeat, but the Black stars were up to the task as they dominated the entire game.
Ghana started the game on a front foot and got their deservingbreakthrough goalin the 22nd minute, where Jordan Ayew picked a loose ball and beat his marker in the box but saw his shot saved by the Qatari goalkeeper who was unlucky to see his saved fell in front of Tariq Ofosu who made no mistake to hit the ball into an empty net to put the score at 1-0.
Just a minute into the break, Qatar had their equalizer after a beautiful long pass from Boualem Khoukhi located Ali Almoez who had beaten the offside trap to lob the ball over Razak Abalora and strike into an empty net to put the score at 1-1.
On the 63rd minute, Captain Dede Ayew restored Ghana’s lead after traping Partey’s shot at goal to slot the ball past helpless Qatar keeper from the centre of the box to put the score at 2-1.
Two minutes later Samuel Owusu scored the third goal for Ghana after a beautiful overhead pass from Partey located the run of Al-fayha attacker who calmly brought the ball down to curly past opposition goalkeeper to put the score at 3-1.
Dede got his second after nodding the ball into an empty net from a far post following a delicious cross from his brother Jordan to out the score at 4-1.
Caleb Ekuban came on from the bench to get his name on the score sheet after heading a cross past the goalkeeper to put the score at 5-1.
Charles Akonnor will be pleased with his side not only for the results but for the performance of his boys and will hope to career that into 2021 African cup of nations double-header against Sudan next month.
