Dream FC put two past Asante Kotoko in match day 17 of the 2022-2023 betPawa Premier League on Sunday afternoon at the Theater of Dreams, Dawu.
Aholou and Agyenim Boateng was on target for the Believers to see off the Porcupine Warriors to conclude the first half of the league season
The Theater of Dreams was lit up with exceptional football and a quality display of great tactical variations from both coaches, but the first half ended 1-0 in favor of the host, Dreams FC against Asante Kotoko.
The Porcupine Warriors kicked off the game with a blast of referee Rastum Sernorgbe’s whistle, but the Still Believers Dreams FC were able to conserve the pressure.
Dreams FC had their break through, breaking the game’s deadlock after Aholou Avecevou drilled a powerful ball past Danlad Ibrahim.
The Porcupine Warriors responded with great threat from all angles, with Rashid Nortey being the target man, striking and breaking through the lines, but his efforts were saved.
Both Danlad Ibrahim and Koomson put up great performances for their sides, but unlucky Danlad Ibrahim had a ball fall into his net; Koomson made the most dangerous saves and denied Kotoko from tying the game at halftime.
Asante Kotoko returned from the halftime break more determined and put up a spectacular performance with more chances arriving at their feet, but Dreams FC’s defense was too strong for the Porcupine Warriors to penetrate.
Dreams FC, while being less dominant after recess, relied on a counterattack, and their game plan worked perfectly. They increased their scoreline with a spectacular goal from Agyenim Boateng in the 60 minutes.
After advancing past Danlad Ibrahim, Sylvester Simba had the chance to score but failed to put the ball in the goal.
The Porcupine Warriors came close on multiple occasions, but their efforts fell short, and they were sent home empty-handed at the conclusion of the league’s first round.
