Former Les Aigles Of Mali Captain Federick Kanouté has wade into the possible transfer of Thomas Partey to Arsenal, saying the Ghanaian should not leave the Spanish league
The 26-year-old was linked to both Manchester clubs last summer but the deal didn’t materialized, after a fine season with Atletico, Partey is back in the transfer news and this time Arsenal is the leading candidate to snap the signature of the Ghanaian
The former Almeria Star is reported to have rejected a new improved contract from Atletico earlier this month signaling an eminent move from the Madrid based club
But the former Tottenham striker Kanouté has said he is the fan of the dynamic midfielder but cautioned him not to move to England and said the Spanish capital is the best place for him
“There are a few exciting [African] players in LaLiga in my opinion.” Kanouté told Goal
“I really like Thomas [Partey] of Atletico Madrid. He’s a player who is going to keep improving, and there have even been rumours of him leaving to other clubs.
“We hope to keep him in LaLiga as long as possible.”
Moving to Arsenal will end Partey’s eight years stay in the Spanish league
