The victory over JS Saoura in the CAF Confederation Cup play-offs was not enough for Hearts of Oak’s Samuel Boadu.
In the first leg of the competition’s play-off round, Hearts of Oak defeated Saoura 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Ibrahim Salifu broke the tie to put the Phobians ahead with a beautiful set-up by Afriyie Barnieh before the first half break, and substitute Agyenim Boateng scored the second goal in the 72nd minute.
Despite gaining a 2-0 home lead before their second match in Algeria, Boadu expressed his unhappiness with the team’s performance.
“I saw their training at the McDan town Park. Tactically they are good and have better and quick movements. We knew they deal with long balls sometimes so we did all we could to stop their supplies,” Boadu told reporters.
“I’m not happy with the scoreline because we created a lot of opportunities but is quiet unfortunate we couldn’t take all those chances.
“We have learnt a lot from the Wydad Athletic Club game heading into the second leg.”
Algerian side JS Saoura will host Accra Hearts of Oak next week Sunday for the second leg battle
