On Friday night, Legon Cities kick start week three (3) games at the Accra Sports Stadium with a goalless draw against Medeama SC. Legon Cities were not able to grab their first win of the season despite throwing Ghana legend, Asamoah Gyan, on the last 20 minutes of the game. Meanwhile, Medeama SC left back, Patrick Yeah emerged as the Nasco Man of The Match.
The only game on Saturday saw Coach Ignatius Osei lead his Techiman Eleven Wonders side to face his former club, Liberty Professionals at the Carl Reindorf Park.The visitors took the lead through George Osei Amponsah in the 42nd minute.
The excitement got in to the heads of the visiting team as they gave the lead to Liberty Professionals who got the equalizer after just two minutes of conceeding thanks to goal scored by Abdul Razak Boame.
Godfred Attuahene of Liberty Professionals SC won the Nasco Man of The Match award.
The rest of the games continued on Sunday; Karela United came from a goal down to beat Dreams FC 2-1 and go top of the table after round 3 of the Ghana Premier League.
At the CAM Park in Aiyinsase, Joseph Esso shot Dreams ahead in the 37th minute with his second goal of the season but Franklyn Osei pulled parity just 3 minutes later to end the first half at 1-1.
Osei then scored his second of the game on 65 minutes to wrap up the win and move Karela top of the table on 7 points after 3 games. Brace scorer, Franklin Osei went home with the Nasco Man of The Match award.
Cape Coast, Martin Tsiboah’s 21st minute goal proved the difference as Ebusua Dwarfs recorded their first win of the season with a 1-0 success over visiting Berekum Chelsea. Ebusua Dwarfs’ Benjamin Acquah emerged as the Man of The Match.
In Sogakope, WAFA came from a goal down to secure a 1-1 draw at home to Elmina Sharks.
Forward Justice Mensah put Sharks in front after 41 minutes to end the first half with the advantage but Augustine Boakye scored just 10 minutes after the break to secure a point for the academy boys. Godwin Agbevor of WAFA went home with Nasco Man of The Match award.
The Regional Derby despite ending goalless draw did not disappoint as both Aduana Stars and Bechem United played out some exciting football at the Dormaa Park. Aduana Stars went to the without star man Yahaya Mohammed who missed the game through injury. Aduana Stars dependable defender Caleb Amankwah took the Nasco Man of The Match award.
Woes of Accra of Hearts of Oak heightens as they lost to Inter Allies at the Accra Sports Stadium by a goal to nil. Despite creating lots of chances, the visitors could not find the back of the net but Man of The Match winner, Richmond Lamptey ensured Hearts of Oak left unpunished as he scored the only goal of the game with an absolute stunner just 5 steps away from the center circle in the 61st minute. Abednego Tetteh made his debut for the visitors but we’re with midfielders Benjamin Afutu and Frederick Ansah Botchwey.
Asante Kotoko’s game against Great Olympics has been rescheduled for December 9 while Ashantigold’s game against King Faisal will take place on Dec 2. Both Kotoko and Ashgold are involved in Africa assignments this weekend.
