Accra Hearts of oak handed a heavy defeat to bring Bechem united six-games unbeaten run in 2020/2021 Ghana Premier league season to a painful end at the Accra sports stadium on Saturday evening.
The game which was billed to be a top liner was rendered as Under 15 kids playing against a premier league club thanks to the centre referee Abdul Latif Qadir who shown his clear intentions after 30secs when he flashed a yellow card to the captain of Bechem United Imoro Salifu after he complained about an elbow on his teammate.
On the 14th minute, Abdul Latif showed another yellow card to Bechem united player Francis Twene for a soft tackle which was his first.
The big moment of the game arrived just before the half-hour mark, Robert Addo brought Bechem united attacker Steven Owusu down in the box after he stole the ball from him. Yet Abdul Latif had none of that and waved play on.
The biggest moment came in the 38th minute when Emmanuel Asante got two quick yellow cards in the same minute for alleged time-wasting and complaint afterwards.
The first half ended 0-0.
But the Phobians had other ideas after Umar Manaf, Victor Aidoo 2x, Fredrick Ansah-Botwe, Lawal Mamane and Benjamin Afutu goals ensured a resounding victory for the home side.
Prince Adu Kwabena got the consolation goal for the visitors.
The results mean Hearts are now second on the league log with 11 points from 7 games. While Bechem remains top of the table.
Hearts will travel to Elmina to play sharks on matchday 8 on January 10.
While Bechem will host King Faisal on the same day.
