The black stars went into the game at the back of a 3-0 humiliating defeat to Mali.
Charles Akonnor’s men needed to respond and they did that in a unique style.

Razak Abalora – 6
Got the nod ahead of Lawrence Atizigi, Razak’s distribution was good, he near to a decent game hadn’t been the goal he conceded which he could’ve done better.
Annan Benson – 6.5
The youngster had a good debut, he kept things simple and didn’t push forward enough but his coach will be pleased.
Joseph Aidoo – 6.5
Ali Almoez had the better of the Celta Vigo man to gets Qatar’s only goal in the game, but Aidoo recovered and gave little away.
Alexander Djiku – 8
The Strasburg defender is the good thing to happen to Ghana the two matches that they played, after having a solid debut, Djiku followed up with solid performance against Qatar, his forward passing from a defensive position to his midfielders was a delight to watch.
Gideon Mensah – 5.5
After a shocker again mali, Mensah struggled at the early minutes of the game against Qatar with his positioning, though the second half was better.
Thomas Partey – 9.5
He is our man of the match, The Arsenal man was horrible against Mali, but we saw a determined and compose Partey today, his link-up plays with the attackers was solid and capped it with two assists.
Salifu Iddrisu – 8.5
He offered good protection to the back four, his understanding with Partey was excellent.
Tariq Fosu – 7.5
The tiring winger brought out his A-game, he terrorised the entire defence of Qatar and was very relentless and got the first goal of the game.
Samuel Owusu -9.5
The tiny winger showed his quality, he caused serious havoc at both flanks for Ghana and finished it off with a beautiful goal and assist.
Jordan Ayew -8
Though we think he held unto the ball far too long sometimes, that did not stop the crystal palace star to set-up two beautiful goals
Dede Ayew -10
At the back of massive criticism, him been the captain of the team empowered his players with a solid performance as capped it with two goals.
Kamal-Deen – 4
The young attacker came on in the second half but didn’t influence the game much.
Yakubu Mohammed – N/A
The 30-year-old defender came on in dying embers of the game so it was difficult for us to rate him.
Caleb Ekuban – 7.5
Though he came on less than five minutes to the end of the game, that did not influence the attitude of Ekuban as the Trabzonspor striker scored the last goal of the game.
Coach Charles Akonnor – 9.5
He promised the type of football the Black stars played in 1978 duped ”Agoroball” and Ghanaians will be pleased with what the saw this evening. At the back of massive pressure from Ghana, Akonnor made changes to the side that lost to Mali and the changes paid off.
