Former Ghana premier league goal monster, Eric Kwabena Bekoe has insistently singled Black stars rocket defender, Jonathan Mensah as the toughest defender he ever faced in the country’s topflight football.
The ex goal king, Bekoe who scored in sixths and seventh during his hay days with Kumasi base Asante Kotoko has chosen Ghanaina international and skipper for USA outfit Columbus Crew, Jonathan Mensah as the most hardest defender he encountered face-to-face during the 2007/08 GHPL season.
Speaking exclusive to Kumasi base Opemsuo radio, the tormentor of defenders labelled the ex Obousi Ashantigold kingpin as his biggest rivals to stopped him from scoring.
“The only defender who took me to the naked wire in a match through out my career is former Free State Star and Granada defender, Jonathan Mensah”- Bekoe stated
“He gave me my worst moment which stopped me from scoring.” He added.
The 33 year old who won the top scorers award in the 2007/08 season under Coach Bashir Hayford helm controversially noted that “Not even Daniel Coleman will come near Jonathan Mensah.”
