Swansea forward Dede Ayew produced a five-star performance against Sudan in 2021 African cup of nations qualifier by scoring two incredible goals to hand Coach Charles Akonnor first win in a competitive game for the Black stars at the cape coast sports stadium on Thursday evening.
The Black Stars of Ghana hosted the secretary bird of Sudan in the third of group C qualifying round of matches and after sloppy first minutes of the game, Dede beautifully converted a 20-yard free-kick to give his side the lead in the 19th minute.
The game went into the break with the home side leading by 1-0.
The second half saw Coach Akonnor side dominating possession with little to show in the final third.
With 9 minutes to the end of the game, Dede decided to do it all by himself by picking the ball at the right side of the opposition half, go round two markers before smashing the ball with his favourite left foot from the edge of the 18-yard box into the left corner of the post to put the lead beyond the reach of the Sudanese.
Dede playing today means he’s now overtaken John Paintsil (90) with 91 caps with the Black Stars.
The results mean Ghana is still at the top of Group C with 9 points, The team will fly to Sudan for the second leg on Tuesday.
