Kumasi Asante Kotoko has left Ghana to face Sudanese giant Al-Hilal Omdurman in a crucial champions league second leg game which will be played in Al-Hilal Stadium on January 6.
kotoko lost 1-0 at home to Al-Hilal in Accra last week.
Though many pundits have written the chances of the Porcupines wining, however the management and technical team are confident a miracle can happen come Wednesday.
In as much as miracle do happen in football, Kotoko technical team and the playing body must do their work to perfection and hope for it.
When Kotoko hosted Al-Hilal in Accra sports stadium last week, we noticed five(5) things that went against the Ghana giant
- We realized the Kotoko team had no balance.
- We also identified a fitness issue
- We also identified a lack of creativity in the middle of the pitch
- We noticed players who are inexperienced
- Johnson smith must drop the 4:4:2 flat formation he’s been using all games.
We believe for Kotoko to win over Al-Hilal, they technical team must make sure they get their selection right. So we believe a first 11 of:
Razak Abalora, Wahab Adams, Abdul Ganiu, Patrick Asmah, Christopher Nettey, Muniru Sulley, Kwame Adom Frimpong, Latif Anabila, Godfred Asiamah, Emmanuel Gyamfi, Naby Keita. In a 4:2:3:1 formation.
We believe after intensive training couple with the match against Medeama Sporting club should improve the fitness level of the players.
We believe that the inclusion of Muniru, Latif and Adom should provide the needed creativity because of how comfortable these players always have on the ball.
The inexperienced of players like Kwame Poku the leading striker of Kotoko was telling in the game till he got substituted, and the few minutes Naby Keita had confirms our assertion, so we believe Keita should get the nod ahead of Opoku.
Kotoko will need to avoid some elementary mistakes, and believe it is possible for them to win and progress.
We believe qualification is not out of reach.
