Charles Taylor, a seasoned Ghanaian football legend, boldly stated that no Ghanaian clubs will be able to participate in an Africa campaign for ten years.
His comments follow the failure of his previous team, Hearts of Oak, to advance to the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup 2021–22, despite leading 2-0 heading into the second leg.
If Ghanaian clubs are to compete with the best on the continent and prosper, Taylor wants them to focus on acquiring high-quality players.
“Right now, no Ghanaian club can make any impact in Africa in the next 10 years. There’s no quality to compete – He said on Angel TV.
“Some of our best players will sit on bench in North Africa clubs”
“Ghana lacks quality in all areas, technical, management and players”- he finalized.
