Madam Hillary Boateng, the Chairperson of the Ghana Womens League Board has commended the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) for its decision to introduce first women’s club continental championship.
This, according to the Continents footballing governing body, the said competition will be labelled as “CAF Women’s Champions League”
It is noted that, the Executive Council of CAF in a meeting held on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 announced that it will embark on women’s champions’ league from the year 2021 as part of its development maneuver for women’s game in Africa.
Following this development, the chairperson of Ghana’s women league board, have embraced it and commended the decision from the leadership of CAF for such initiative.
“It is good news, I will thank CAF for expressing keen interest in women’s football with the introduction of women’s champions’ league in 2021. Both men and women who are interested in women football must congratulate CAF for a good job done” Hillary said.
“Per my checks, the decision to play women champions league has been on the table of CAF for about two decades but here we are in 2020 where they have finally announced it.” She concluded
