The Fire Club striker has disclosed the cancellation of Ghana Premier league has put himself and his teammates in a very worrying situation as they wanted to surprise their supporters with another league title.
On 30 June, 2020, the GFA Executive Council members unanimously arrived at a decision to trancated the 2019/20 season amidst coronavirus pandemic which made it impossible for the season to continue
Reacting to the decision, Adjei, who is popularily know as ‘CNN’ revealed that the inability for the season to continue is very disturbing because his team were on top form and wanted to clinch the league title
“The FA deciding to cancel the league is a worry to us because we wanted to win the league and represent Ghana in Africa championships League . So hearing the news was a bad”- Adjei told Alpha Radio
“Looking at the performance of we Aduana Stars players it clearly shows that we were ready to do something for the club” he concluded.
On 16th March, 2020. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) took action to suspended all its competitions with immediate effect until further notice following an announcement from President Nana Akufo-Addo, ordering a suspension of public gatherings, including sports events.
After series of engagements between GFA, Government and other stakeholders in attempt to get football back in the country never materialized.
