Board member of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Mr Joseph Yaw Adu has insistedly noted that the club is in no hurry to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) after the resignation of George Amoako.
It could be recalled a 12-member board of directors has been appointed by his Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to serve as the highest decision-making body of the club and to ensure the club is run as a corporate entity.
However, after assuming office, there has been constant speculation on the appointment of a new CEO to help steer the affairs of the club. These, Mr Joseph Adu has revealed that the club has no intention to any decision.
“We are not in a hurry to appoint. We have to take things slowly,take our time to do the right thing at the right time. We have to make sure all structures are in place and all conditions are favorable for him. We will not rush in doing things,the media is speculating and given so much pressure to the board” he told Kumasi FM.
Mr Joseph Yaw Adu nevertheless stressed that the five member interim management committee set by the life patron of the club are tasked with a specific duties.
“We are still working as a board, some of us have however been appointed to lead certain assignments.We have not been give a definite timeframe.
“We are not only mandated to do contract negotiations but we have been asked to do a wholistic job including a performance audit and looking into documents and report back to the board.”
