Ghana Black Stars gaffer, C.K Akonnor has stated emphatically that his team is focused on tomorrow’s game.
The Black Stars are in Group G with Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa as they are battle for a spot in the final qualifying stage for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana sits top of the group with 3 points after a narrow win over Ethiopia at Cape Coast Stadium last Friday from Mubarak Wakaso’s strike on the 38th-minute mark.
The team will play against the Bafana Bafana tomorrow at FNB Stadium in South Africa at exactly 4:00 pm.
At the pre-match conference, Akonnor said the most important thing is to be efficient against their opponents.
“What is important is that we have to be efficient, against Ethiopia we didn’t excite you guys but we were efficient because we won as it stands now, we are on top”
“We are not going to be influenced by the pressure or whoever is commenting to disturb us. I said we are focused, we are here, we’ve seen South Africa against Zimbabwe and we have a strategy and we will be that it will work.
“We believe that even if they change their style of play we will find an antidote to it and move out of this place with three points” – He concluded
Ghana has lost just once in their previous nine encounters with South Africa and hasn’t lost a competitive game against the Bafana Bafana since February 2000.
