The Senior National Football Team, the Black Stars have rejected a proposal by Accra Hearts of Oak for a friendly match, Angel 102.9FM Sports sources have gathered.
The Black Stars and Accra Hearts of Oak will engage in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers on the 3rd of September while Hearts play in the CAF Champions League a week later.
The Ghanaian League and FA Cup Champions thus sent a proposal for a friendly with CK Akunnor’s side but the request was turned down by the technical handlers.
“We told them we want to play them in a friendly because we thought it would be beneficial to both of us but they said no. The excuse was that they are moving to Cape Coast but we insisted that even if they will play, we will travel to Cape Coast and pay our expenses and come back but they still rejected the request”, Hearts of Oak insider told Angel 102.9FM Sports
It must be recalled that the Black Stars played Kotoko in a friendly two years ago after the AFCON qualifying game against Sierra Leone was canceled by FIFA.
Ghana will start the 2022 World cup qualifying campaign against Ethiopia on Friday before facing South Africa three days later.
