Benjamin Afutu was left out of Hearts of oak’s Champions League squad after failing to extend his contract with the Phobians.
The champions submitted their squad yesterday without one of their key players.
As we reported earlier, the 25-year-old midfield maestro has refused to sign any of the three deals Hearts presented which met his demands.
“I gave Hearts the consent to register for Africa but I can’t tell if they registered him or not but for the contract, I can tell you that we have not signed’ Mr. Daniel William Tackie ( Afutu’s manager ) told Hot FM this morning.
The Accra-based club will have to compete in the CAF champions league without Afutu which will be a very big blow.
Manaf Gumar Umar, Abdul Nurudeen are notable names who missed out.
Afutu bagged seven goals in all competitions for the Ghana Premier League Champions.
