Captain of Black Bombers, Sulemana Tetteh started everything at the 2020 Olympic Games this morning for Ghana after defeated Dominican Republic boxer Marte de la Rosa by way of concordant decision.
The win marks Sulemanu’s 54th win since he commenced his professional career having displayed an excellent output to yet another win after getting a slow and a suspect start.
The 2012 London Olympian, Sulemanu progressed to round of 16 and a step closer to a medal zone.
He set the stride in fabulous style with a split decision 3-2 victory over Marte De la Rosa Rodrigo in the Flyweight division to book a spot.
The seasoned skipper started gently and dropped a point in the first, but gradually heated himself in the bout and winning the last two rounds to justify the three of the five judge’s scorecards.
