Extrovert WAFA Midfielder, Augustine Boakye has stated he wants to emerge as African best player in the next five years.
Augustine’s scintillating performances in the just ended 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League has earned him a move to Austrian Bundesliga outfit Wolfsberger AC and will start his football career in Europe in the 2021/22 season.
In an exclusive interview with Angel FM, Augustine said it is his aim to win the Africa best player award which has evaded Ghanaian players for sometime now.
Ghana legend Abedi Pele last won the eminent award during his hey days in 1993.
“My target is to win the African footballer of the year award in the next five years” he said.
He completed the season as the top assist provider and was also nominated with several Man of the match awards in the process.
The enterprising midfielder was a crucial figure in the WAFA team and helped them secure a third place on the Ghana Premier league log where they walked away with a sum of GHS 80,000.00 and 40 bronze medals.
