Astute young French gaffer Romain Folz has disclosed that he has been contacted by an anonymous member of the Asante Kotoko board to consider an offer to be the next coach of the porcupines.
Speaking to local press, he said:
“I got a contact from someone within the @AsanteKotoko_SC Board telling me to come and coach the club next season if I’m free. I didn’t have much detail about him but he only said he’s a member of the Board of Directors of the club.”
The former AshantiGold SC head coach left the Obuasi based club after only a month in charge having played just 5 league games (2 wins, 2 draws and a solitary loss).
The 30-year-old took the decision to quit AshantiGold with immediate effect due to some misunderstandings with the top hierarchy of the club.
Folz is no stranger to the Ghana Premier League, having coached Bechem United and Ashanti Gold in the past.
With the future of Mariano Barreto uncertain, Folz will be a very capable replacement because of his tactical ingenuity and his eye for talent.
