Recent reports have suggested that English giants Manchester United are closing in on the signing of French and Real Madrid defender Rafael Varane. The Frenchman have been on the Red Devils top list after last week marquee signing of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
The Red Devils have been linked to sign Rafael Varane after the defender admitted he could be in for a different challenge. The news have however taken a massive shift with reports indicating that Real Madrid could be tempted to cash in on the defender if they receive a significant bid with Manchester United planning on testing their nerves with an opening bid of £42m plus add-ons.
Personal terms are close to be agreed between the camp of Manchester United and Rafael Varane with a weekly wage of £200k being highlighted on a five-year contract.
Previous reports indicated that the Frenchman would decide about his future after the Euro’s but France shocking elimination from the tournament has meant that the defender could be tempted to move with away from the Santiago Bernabau.
Real Madrid have granted permission to the Red Devils to speak to Rafael Varane with a deal said to be close.
