Ex-normalization committee boss Dr. Kofi Amoah has waded into the $25 million Black stars cash issue, saying it’s a wrong approach from the government to invest such an amount into our senior national team.
Ghana President Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo and minister of youth, sports, and culture Mustapha Ussif last week met with co-operate Ghana to solicits $15 million after pledging $10 million for the Black stars ahead of their 2022 world cup qualifiers and AFCON.
Many Ghanaians have expressed their dissatisfaction over the move and reacting to the news
The experienced football administrator agreed with Ghanaians who don’t support the actions of the President and Minister and when he was asked if is the right approach
He said “No! Strengthen your local league, starting from juvenile football, Samuel Osei Kuffour, Michael Essien all of these people, this is where they got their strength” Amoah said in an interview with Bernard Avle on Citi Tv
“When the Germans saw that their football is going at down hill they said time out, we need to think, it took them 11 years but they won the world cup in Brazil
“ Ghana can win the world cup because we have the talents but the organization of the approach is the wrong one and I hope that my friends at the Ghana football association (GFA) are not going to be angry with me and fix it”
Dr. Kofi Amoah and his normalization committee led Ghana football for a year after Anas Aremeyaw Anas’s investigative piece dubbed number 12 which got rid of top officials at the association including President Kwesi Nyantakyi in 2018.
