Asante Kotoko succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to exciting Medeama sporting club side at the Obuasi Len clay sports stadium on Saturday afternoon
The Porcupine warriors started on the bright note and got their deserving lead after Imoro Ibrahim sumptuous cross was nod home by Emmanuel Gyamfi who was unmarked in the 16-yard box to put the score at 1-0 in the 13th minute.
After Kotoko took the lead, Medeama took the game to the home side and dominated afterwards,
On the 30th minute, Prince Opoku capitalised on a loose marking inside the box to shoot into the left bottom corner with his left foot, to put the score at 1-1.
Just before the halftime break, Richard Boadu’s shot took a wicked deflection to beat helpless Razak Abalora into the back of the net to complete the turn around in the first half.
The second half saw a different approach from both teams as the visitors brilliantly managed till the end of the game to pick all the maximum points to move to the top of the league log.
The results mean Kotoko is now second with 35 points, while Medeama is now on 36 points.
Baba Musah was adjudged the most valuable player of the game.
