Nkoo Joseph writes: How long can the board of directors continue to finance Asante Kotoko | Halftimegh.com

Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club is the only team / Institution in the world where the Board of Directors of the Club are responsible for the financing of the Club. What I have come across is, shareholders or owners of the Clubs does the funding whiles the Board of Directors formulate policies and take decisions for the Clubs

A very good example is what is currently happening in our arrivals, Accra Hearts of Oak

The Board chairman who doubles as the majority shareholder of the club is funding the team from his pocket.

This goes to tell the whole world how the current and previous Kotoko Board Of Directors have laboured to finance the team for all these while and are still on it

As a supporters leader, I can confirm that most Kotoko Supporters do appreciate the efforts of these current Board of Directors led Dr Kwame Kyei with Dr Kofi Abban, Madam Evelyn Nsiah Asare, Mr Jude Arthur, Mr Kwadwo Boateng Genfi, Alhaji Lamin, Lawyer Kwamina Mensah, Mr Joseph Yaw Adu and Baffour Kwame Kusi as members.

In this COVID era where most businesses are not functioning properly, they have financed the team in this abnormal time for the African Campaign and are back to continue with the Ghana Premier League

The big question is, “For how long can these Board of Directors continue with these practices of financing the team from their own pockets and what happens to their Investments when they are sacked one day? ”

Should we wait for a day when Asanteman will call off all these funding-related problems and take over with a SEED CAPITAL for the Board of Directors to have a briefing space financially?

The Board took a very good decision by bringing Nana Yaw Amponsah on board as the Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of the Club

Nana Yaw Amponsah and his management have so far also done very well in this COVID era by bringing eleven (11) sponsorship and partnership arrangements on board namely Hisense, Star Life, Star Assurance, CedarVite, Creek, Adongo Next Level, Goil, Ticketlake, Veo, InStat and erra in less than seven months in off couple with the ongoing Adako Jackie project

But still, the Board and management of Kotoko needs financial support to regain her lost glory in African

Who is the right person to explain this to the highest level on our behalf?

( CHAIRMAN, HOT CIRCLE 2- ACCRA )
