On 15th March 2021, Ghana Olympic Committee will go to the polls to elect new executives for various portfolios for the next four years.
Incumbent President Ben Nunoo Mensah is seeking reelection and we take a look at some of his achievements in the last four years.
Amid a global pandemic called coronavirus, the dynamic leader led the committee to accomplish some important achievements that need a mention
Below are some of the accomplishment under Ben Nunoo Mensah-led administration
1. The various communication channels and administrative structures created in the first year of our administration has enhanced administrative efficiency at the GOC.
2. Established that the quest to ensure an elective change at the GOC/CGA is no longer seen as a coup d’état (as it has been in the past) and has encouraged the staff of the GOC/CGA to become less partisan and more professional in their work.
3. Has ensured that the GOC continue to enjoy an extremely good relationship with the IOC, whose support to our National Federations (NFs), athletes and coaches through the Olympic Solidarity programme has been tremendous. We will continue to build on that relationship to maximise their overall support to the development of sports in Ghana.
4. Secured an internship program with the GCF which has been very supportive
We believe that delegates will consider the above achievements and give him another mandate
Ben Nunoo Mensah is second on the ballot paper.
