Black stars head Coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor has decided to give premium to players plying their trade in the Ghana Premier League by giving as many as seven players chance in his squad to face South Africa and São Tomé and Príncipe in the upcoming AFCON 2022 qualifiers.
Charles Akonnor is expected to announce his squad in the coming days and Halftimegh.com can exclusively report that seven players who have been exceptional this season in the Ghana League will be selected.
The list includes Great Olympics talisman Gladson Awako, Medeama’s midfield maestro Justice Blah, Karela goal hitter Diawisie Taylor, Kotoko striker Kwame Poku, Goalkeeper Razak Abalora, left-back Imoro Ibrahim, and defender Abdul Ganiu.
Ghana is leading the group C table with 9 points and will only need one more win to book their place in next year’s tournament in Cameroon.
