The skipper of the Black satellites team has debunked stories circulating in the media space he had a row with management reason why he was dropped ahead of the Niger game.
Afriyie Barnieh was not involved at all in Ghana crucial game against their Nigeriens counterpart on Tuesday, December 15, 2020
After the game, a source close to this portal revealed that, Barnieh was dropped after demanding for the team’s unpaid per diem.
But reacting to the report, The tiring attacker rubbish the story saying nothing of that happened
”I’ve not had any row with any management”- Afriyie told Halftimegh.com
I didn’t play because the coaches felt I should sit out. It is not true they did that because I had a row with the management.
”I’m not happy about your report at all”- He said.
Without captain Barnieh, Black Satellites beat Niger 5-3 on penalties to reach the finals of the WAFU Zone B Cup of Nations in Benin.
The win also qualified Ghana for the 2021 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Mauritania. Ghana, three-time African champions, will be making a record 11th appearance at the competition slated for Mauritania in 2021.
