Sudan scored an injury-time goal to defeat Black stars of Ghana in Africa cup of nations Group C game at the Khartoum Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
The Black stars started well in the early minutes of the game but failed to score in any of the few but decent chances that came their way.
The Ghana team decided to keep the ball and try to hold on till the final whistle because a draw would’ve qualified the Black stars to next year’s competition in Cameroon, however, the host had other ideas, which just a minute to for the referee to end proceedings, the Sudanese winger Agba Rahman sent a teasing cross into the 18-yard box the Ghana defenders failing to deal with it allowing Mohamed Abdel Rahman to head the ball past helpless Fatau Dauda.
The game ended 1-0 with Sudan amassing all the maximum points.
The results leave Group C wide open with Ghana still leading with 9 points, followed by South Africa who is also 9 points, leaving Sudan on the third place with 6 points, São Tomé and Príncipe has 0 points
The two slots are up for grabs with two matches to go which will be played in March next year.
