Former Ghana U-20 goalkeeper Mutawakilu Seidu has shockingly disclosed that former Black stars legend Richard Franc Paul Kingston (Olele) was a better goalkeeper than Manuel Neuer and Gigi Buffon
Buffon and Neuer are former world cup winners and are regarded as the most successful keepers in the history of football, with the two sharing over 50 honours and over 1500 club appearance among them, in fact, Neuer ended the season winning the treble with a heroic performance against Paris Saint-German in the champions league final a week ago.
But the 25-year-old is unfazed by their numbers and says his compatriot Olele was better than them and explained why
“My all-time best goalkeeper will be Richard Kingson,” Seidutold Awake Television.
“For Manuel Neuer and Buffon they have all the facilities and environment and that is why they are still playing. But for me, Richard Kingston on is my all-time best goalkeeper (over Neuer, Buffon, etc)” Mutawakilu explained his opinion.
“Olele did well with the national team and for a Black goalkeeper to play outside for so many years I think he did well” the former Kotoko goalkeeper added.
Olele left his native Accra in 1996 to pursue a career in Turkey, he went on to represent 6 clubs including giant Galatasaray before moving to Sweden and England and Cyprus
Olele featured for Ghana in three world cups and more than 3 African cups of nations
