Asante Kotoko captain Felix Annan has slammed people who say Kwame Baah should continue in post for Kotoko because he kept some few clean sheets and won matches in his absence
The embattled shot-stopper lost his place in the Kotoko team to teammate Kwame Baah in the 2019/20 league season.
It all happened when Annan sought permission to absent himself from the team to prepare for his wedding after Match Week 3.
Upon his return, he has had to warm the bench as Baah was preferred to him by coach Maxwell Konadu.
Baah however, kept the post in ten league games and helped the Porcupines to 5 wins, 1 defeat and 4 draws before the revocation of the season due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking to Germany-based online Radio station, the 25-year-old disclosed that he gets surprised when people say Baah should continue in the post because the team is winning with him and cited what happened in Keylon Navas and Sergio Rico case to backed his point
”Last week [Keylon] Navas in their champions league game against Atalanta in the quarterfinals got injured but reclaim his place after he was fit and play in the finals even though [Sergio] Rico had kept a clean sheet and a win against Leipzig in the semifinals”- Felix Told Tropical Radio
”If it was in our country they will come and tell you the keeper had a clean sheet so he should continue, some of these things I hear and I smile about it.
”For me, I won’t talk too much because of the respect I have for the fans and the love they continue to show towards me in these difficult times, I appreciate it, but I have my time to tell my story.
”If we are doing things right we should do things right because I kept asking myself that why is it that after each game there is a conversation about me, why is it so?
”That means there is a problem if there is no problem there won’t be a conversation
”But I Felix Annan, until the world is over, am not giving up.” he ended.
