Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan says, he’s now a better penalty taker than he was before 2012 semi-final missed against eventual Champions zambia in 2012 Afcon.
Gyan, 34, has missed some crucial penalties for Ghana with notable ones coming against Uruguay at the 2010 world cup and against Zambia in 2012.
Ghana was chasing its 5th Afcon after several attempt in the 28 edition of the tournament at Equitorial Guinea/Gabon when Gyan missed a crucial penalty in the first half and Ghana went on to lose 1-0 to the Chipolopolo in the semis finals.
Gyan, discussing the low points in his career with Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, the former Udinese striker said he is now better converting from the spot after his missed against Zambia
“Previously I used to take penalties without looking at the movement of the goalkeeper. Because I have the technique I just target an angle and then shoot” Gyan Told Max TV.
“But after the penalty miss against Zambia in the African cup I change the way I take penalties. Now I watch the goalkeeper, I look at his moves and how he makes his steps and then I shoot. So now it is much easier for me” the former Al Ain striker added.
